days in your class, please submit a guidance referral so we can follow-up as to

● VOLUNTEER FOR A HSFI COMMITTEE
For anyone interested, please sign up to volunteer for a HSFI
committee – committee signup is on the Staff Website / Opening Day Forms – our choices
include (1) APPS – College Access work; (2) Academic & CTE Accreditation –
Academic Policy; (3) Social-Emotional Intelligence; (4) PBIS / Fashion Dollars;
(5) Safety; (6) SIT – School Implementation Team that examines students’
Individualized Education Plans; and (7) Fashion Empowers Committee which is
working on:
□ LGBT inclusive curriculum development and lesson plans that can
be implemented by any teachers who are interested (English, History, CTE)
□ Student workshop regarding sexual orientation, gender and
inclusive language (perhaps they can be held in the spring for the 9th and 10th
graders in the student lounge)
□ New Teacher PD on gender and inclusive language (i.e pronouns,
preferred names etc.) or Safe Space Training for all staff

In
amazing news announced by Chancellor Farina, lunch is free to all students in
all of our NYC public schools, regardless of income eligibility. This means
that all meals – both breakfast and lunch – served by the Department of
Education’s SchoolFood program will be at no cost to families. Unfortunately,
we still need to collect lunch applications
