CALL TO ACTION
● MARKET THE STUDENT CLUB FAIR
The student club fair is on
Wednesday and Thursday – encourage your students, especially 9th
graders, to attend. Many times students
make their connections to the school through these clubs.
● MAKE SURE YOU REFER STUDENTS
We cannot help students out, if
we do not know if they are having problems – fill out referrals as necessary
including academic ones which will refer to the National Honor Society
tutoring. We hope to begin this service
by the beginning of October. HELP NEEDED: We need staff
supervisors for these NHS tutoring sessions for Period 9 & 10– Per Session
Posting #501
● USE OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES FORM
The ‘Attendance for Student
Activities’ link is now operational – when students go to a sports practice,
attend tutoring, or do service for you – LET US KNOW through this form located
on the Staff Homepage – we need to know these students are headed in the right
direction just as much as we need to know they are going in the wrong
direction.

● LUNCH APPLICATION COLLECTION
Thank you for your help with the
collection of lunch applications. There are 884 students left! Your
efforts will help us secure important funding for our school. Please remind all
your students and parents that you are in touch with to complete the online
form at https://www.myschoolapps.com/.
A hard copy of the lunch form can be found in department offices, the Main
office and in the Dean’s office. Any hard copy that you receive should be
turned in to Ms. Pam Rodriguez in the Dean’s office, or placed in Mr. Andre
Rodrigues’s mailbox or in his office in Room 515. You should have or will soon receive a
customized list of your 3rd period students whose applications are
still outstanding. Please follow up with those students individually. Thank you again for your cooperation and
attention to this important matter.
● STUDENT / STAFF COMPUTER LOG-IN SUPPORT
Mr. Abdallah is available if
anyone is having a problem with their Log in on the HSFI school computer
network. If a student is having difficulty, please just send them to Mr.
Abdallah in room 615 or room 704 period 5 and 6 for swift resolution. They will
be sent back with resolution and a pass stating the time they left and from
where. He is usually in Room 615 before 1st period and after school.
You can call to check at extension 6151 or period 5 and 6 at extension 7041. Keep in mind the following:

● LUNCH APPLICATION COLLECTION
Make sure you check out this
video – our amazing Fashion Design teacher and Alumni Association Director
Belinda David, community associate extraordinaire Anika Carter and HSFI student
Wendy Dias were featured on Bronxnet for their upcoming Garifuna Fashion Show
this coming Saturday, September 24 that will benefit the HSFI Alumni
Association and an infrastructure project in Honduras. The Honduras project involves students not
being able to attend school during flooding season – part of the money from the
show will contribute to infrastructure system that can handle all this
water. Here is the link to the video:
● SAVE THE DATE – SING IS BACK!!!
