resource. Here are the key categories of
the ‘Student Profile’:

programming the new referral form that makes it so much easier for HSFI staff
to alert the school about individual student struggles.

summer in looking over special education student IEPs and facilitating the
necessary changes as they transition to high school.

you to MS. McKEON for her work with our college Youth Leaders over
the summer to make sure they are ready to support their classmates through the
college application and financial aid process.

you to MS. WEISS & MS. SAN JORGE for all their work with our
college Bridge Coaches during the summer – these coaches, who are all HSFI
alumni, supported HSFI graduates from last June and the summer as they
transitioned into college this Fall.

rigorous and creative opening lessons for all the English classes.

you to MS. SONIA MEDINA for helping a new student navigate the school who
was having trouble.

you to MS. CHAVEZ for her constant professional and
support in the Main Office as well as coming into school a week prior to
opening to run orientation session and tours to over 250 new students.

with metro cards and other important items to guarantee a smooth school opening.

Coordinator for our special education students.

summer preparing for the Advanced Placement Computer Science class.

Fashion Design Department Coordinator while a colleague is out.

store ready for business – our students can now purchase items online which has
been a HUGE hit with our parents.

you to MR. EGAN for all the effort in having the Fashion Soarrs
website operational for the beginning of the school year.

you to MS. KLEPACKI for her passionate Attendance presentation at our
opening meeting and all her efforts in making these protocols run smoothly –
now it’s our job to not disappoint her.

behind the Fashion Empowers Committee.

the summer conference in New Haven.

Tuesday, September 13
Elective: (n) a course that a student may
select from among alternatives. In
addition to their required courses, the marketing majors could choose electives
in related fields.
Wednesday, September 14
Syllabus: (n) an outline or summary of topics that
will be studied in a course. The
syllabus for our course in American literature focused on twentieth century
writers.
Thursday, September 15
Accredit: (v) to certify that a college or university has
met the necessary requirements to be approved by the proper authority. The Department of Education maintains a
database of postsecondary institutions that have been accredited.
Friday, September 16
FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid: (n) A
free form that must be completed by all those who wish to be considered for
federal and many forms of state financial aid
