CALL TO ACTION

Every week, I will share with you a ‘Call To Action’ around our school goals that will help drive our work for that week.

HSFI ‘CARED FOR’ GOAL – RELATIONSHIPS & REALNESS

HSFI ‘CHALLENGED’ GOAL – RIGOR & RELEVANCE

BE AN ACTIVE PROCTOR - BEST WAY TO HELP OUR STUDENTS NOW

The best way to support our students at this time is to be active testing proctors.  Students are double bubbling or not putting in answers at all.  During the first two days of testing, two student exams were invalidated due to the presence of electronic devices.  Please make sure you know where all your students stand during the exams you are proctoring so they are ‘drowning’ on a particular question or section.  Regents are high stakes exams, so please proctor them as such.  Thank you!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEW ITEMS:

WEBSITE CREATED FOR STUDENTS TO LOOKUP REGENTS ROOM & EXAM RESULTS

Students can look up their June 2022 Regents exam rooms and results at: https://hsfi-datadashboard-v3.herokuapp.com/public/Regents%20Results by typing in their 9 digit StudentID number.

IMPORTANT REGENTS REMINDERS

□ Please follow the testing guidelines outlined by Mr. Egan during his presentation - this presentation includes all the information you need to know about testing including exam proctoring - here is the link to the presentation:

Testing Office Presentation RE: Exam Proctoring - 2022-06-09

Here are some important reminders for Testing:

□ These are high-stakes exams for students that impact graduation, promotion, their mental health - we need to proctor them in that way

□ Be active proctors - know how all your students are doing in your testing room - do not allow students to “drown” over one exam question or section

□ Do not let any students take an exam with electronic equipment on them

□ Be on time to your assignments

STAFF ATTENDING 2022 GRADUATION

Graduation is at Maimonides Park, 1904 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11224, ceremony starting at 5:00pm on June 27th.

If you wish to attend graduation, your work day will start at the stadium at 3:30 pm.  If you sign up to attend graduation you will be assigned to help out that day (it is a work day).   The number of staff allowed to attend graduation is contingent on the amount of staff needed to cover the school needs in the building. The school must be covered with staff since it is an attendance day for students.

If you decide not to attend graduation, you will come to school on your normal work schedule.  Meaning if you are 1-8, you start at 8:05 and if you 2-9, you start at 8:55.

If you sign up to attend graduation and don't show up, you will be marked absent.  Your attendance will be taken at the stadium.

You do have the option of working at the school during the day and then attending graduation.

SUMMER 2022 BRIDGE PROGRAM FOR INCOMING STUDENTS - STAFF INTEREST FORM

This July, we are planning on running our Summer Bridge Program for all new and incoming HSFI students.  The Summer Bridge Program is a wonderful opportunity for our current HSFI staff and students to welcome our new students and families into the building and to get them acclimated to HSFI prior to the first day of school.  We have planned many fun activities, scavenger hunts and tours around the building.  Students will receive lots of important information and find out all they need to know about our school, while making new friends in the process.  We can only pull this event off if we have your help.  We are looking for staff members of all titles who may be interested in being a part of our summer bridge program.  Staff members can select which days they are interested/available to work.  The Summer Bridge will run on JULY 13,14, 15 & 20,21,22.  We will run 2 sessions each day from 9-11am, and from 12-2pm  (Staff will be paid 6 hours from 8:30am-2:30pm)
